I had the farrier this morning and he said that as I have been unable to work my horse, the shoes will last another six weeks.... so he kept the old ones (which were hardly worn)!!

Saving me £10.00!!!!

So, dont forget to mention this to your farrier if you have benn unable to work on roads, your shoes will do another six weeks!!!

That doesn't sound like a huge saving, it costs me £20 for a visit for a hoof trim as my girl is unshod.

Or, are shoes quite cheap - sorry, but I've never had a shod horse.

It all helps! (goes towards a bale of bedding!)

I am soooo skint and I didnt ask him to do it, he just gave me back £10.00! (it was only the fronts he kept)

I THINK shoes are a few £ each, it is their labour which is added on? Stands to be corrected though!

Okay, fair enough - I thought he had just come, looked at the shoes and said 'they'll last another 6 weeks' - told you I was new to all this

LOL!

No i was mucking out and providing him with coffee and mince pies!

I hadnt even noticed till I handed him his £ and he said there you are £10.00 back! it is small amount, but if others ask their farriers they may get more off??

More £ for the sales!!

My farrier often refits their shoes - he definitely will this time, I've hardly done any hacking, never mind any roadwork!

However, I only get about a fiver off:(

I like my hacking too much, so this is a first for me, my shoes never do twice round!

Sounds like I got a good deal with £10.00 off... though I did make two coffees and the mince pies prob swayed it! :-) x

FB, im with you with having greys and snow... perfect! xx
