Over the years ive pretty much given up riding due to several reasons although I do ride my own horse just not in a big way! Ridden confidence was part of the issue after some nasty falls.
Ive discovered I am really quite good at- as in far better than most people I know is gaining the trust and confidence of very nervous or young horses. I also get massive massive satisfaction from doing so.
I work on a yard and we fairly often have very scared horses in and 9 times out of 10 after a while I can do anything with them even tho they are still difficult/scared of other people.
I have very little fear on the ground of anything (tho' am safety conscious, not too self assured not to be sensible!)
Id happily send hours/days/weeks/months however long it took gaining a horses trust and genuinely enjoy it.
Is there any job that this could be an advantage? The obvious thing would probably be something like buying and breaking babies but like I say the riding side of that isn't my interest.
If not no worries, Ive actually never found something im properly good at before ;D haha!

you could train as a horsey behaviouralist and help others with their ground/handling issues :)

Imagine it is a useful skill as an equine vetinary nurse too. Infact any job that involves needing to handle anxious and unsettled horses :)

Veterinary nursing! Yes I'd love that. Good idea, in fact I looked into it as I live very close to a good equine vets some years ago but with a child the hours were impossible for me. Especially being on call at night....now she's older....
