Something rather amazing and wonderful has happened

To anyone who has been following my parapets saga, I have received a letter this morning from my MP. As you know, I went to see the then SoS for Transport in December, and he lost his position in the latest government reshuffle. Before he left, the last thing he dealt with was my request! Apparently he has instructed the Highways Agency to increase the barrier height to 1.4m (this was the compromise height we agreed on, as the 1.8m was never going to happen) with 0.6m solid infill. I am ludicrously happy, but also concerned that the HA will drag their feet over getting the work carried out. The bypass has been open for nearly a year, and this argument has been going on for well over 18 months, and I cannot wait for it all to be over! Thanks to everyone on here who has been so supportive and made suggestions, and to H&H mag for their feature. I shall let you know when(!) it is actually completed.

I am delighted to hear of your success, and boy did you have to fight for this to happen.
