went up to do my ponies this morn when i did them last night they were fine inside the small field. I rent private land and keep my 3 mares together in the same field. As they are on a diet at the moment they are in the smallest field with the least grass in.
Now went up this morn went to tack room to get my tack which is in my biggest field and grap a hoof pick. Noticed that all my jumps were gone from the field, now they are not lightweight to carry around. So went to get mare that i was riding soon as i got to the gate something was wrong.
My mare was stood by the stables and next thing my shetland comes out from the other field. The field they are meant to be in is on the left hand side inbetween this field and the next one is a small area that has 2 stables in. Have no idea how they could have got into this area. They would have to have got over or under the electric fence (ok shetland could have got under). Then they would have to go through the big metal gate that is hell to undo esp as its a double gate really old iron one. Between the electric fence and gate not enough room to jump.
Now my 3rd pony my youngster was still in the field and my older one hates leaving the youngster they are really attached to one another so no way would she have escaped and left her in the field.
So put them back in and then tacked up to ride thought id ride down to farmer to ask him if knew anything - he wouldnt have moved them hes 80 and doesnt touch them or go into field etc plus yest was his day off. Made it to end of rode and she is really lame again however saw my jumps in the field next door right at the end. This field is 5 acres so someone would have had to move these jumps from my 1st field into the 3rd one which means going along the road to do this and through 2 gates in-hand when im leading ponies takes me a good 5 mins!
So dont really know what to make of it - someone let them out for fun but why leave youngster, cant imagne it was to steal them as youngster only one worth a lot of money and other 2 are hell to load.
