"I am not going to fanny around talking to the culprit about his feelings/reasons for it at that precise moment in time and you can bet your boots that any of the 'names' don't just stand there and ask "What's the matter sweetie?" with a set of teeth or pair of feet heading their way either. "
Don't know anyone in N.H. who would do that either.

Good
I should jolly well think not, Intelligence doesn't include being walked all over by something that weighs half a ton plus.
I do know someone who thinks like that though. She witnessed me having strong words with my stallion after I took objection to him deciding to strike out at me in temper...said that I should have thought about why he did it and worked around it. I did think about why he did it, he was being a bad mannered, impatient git and he knows better, end of, no excuse. I did ask if she wanted to take him out to his paddock for the night but she declined.
Guesses anyone, to the altar she prostrates herself before!?
I loved watching Monty working Tarquin at the Norfolk Demo but have since found that while he is perfectly at ease with tarpaulin on the ground and a scary bag on a stick or any bag with a human being attached, he is still terrified of bags in bushes etc. So the process worked in the situation that they showed it at the demo but has no relayed to the real world. A shame I think as I like the methods. But there is also more room for you to feel like a failure too. Tarquin has done join up with Monty in his dually headcollar and with me in a round pen so why when I take him out the round pen and try to load him to come home from a lesson does he not want to? Is it because I am a bad mother or is he a stroppy pony. NH would have you believe you are in the wrong. But I do believe that horses can be deliberately awkward if they chose to.
I read Florin's story on your website, and have to confess to shedding a tear or 3.
On a happier note though, with Rana....I now have the most loving and affectionate horse. She gallops to the gate when I whistle for her (she's got good grazing, so not hungry). She gives kisses and hugs, but respects my space. On the odd occasion she does get too cheeky, I can just growl at her and she knows she's in trouble.
Someone mentioned above that IH is great for horses who are scared - I agree with this. I don't think it does much for pushy, bargy horses, but it is useful for developing confidence.
I'm surprised you didn't strangle your helpers. I would have done!
I think Kelly Marks is a very bad copy of Monty Roberts. It is like Monty has been photocopied many times and she is the version that you can only just read if you squint your eyes.
Like all things in life there are good points and bad points - the trick is being able to tell the difference.
I find IHDG Forum way too holier than thou for me and also very money grabbing - but Ihave never ventured onto a Parrelli board so that might be even worse
Great news!! Intelligent Horsemanship - take from it what you want!!! I was very sceptical until I had my local RA out to see my horse. It helped dramatically. So I really sit on the fence about this one!!
