It's a nice sunny hot day, and while I'm not doing anything for an hour I'm thinking ahead to our week away in Cornwall next month. So looking forward to the fun of the sea!! (and seriously keeping all things crossed that the weather is kind to us!)

So, name something you are looking forward to - it doesn't have to be horsey or animal related!

3 stayaway days of lessons at my trainers this week with No1 horse who has been out of action since November. Also looking forward to finding out what's going on with No2 horse who's going to Liphook on Tues, and finally, am excited about a day out at Hickstead on Friday :)

Taking my pony on holiday this week ... eek ... a bit nervous, but looking forward to being somewhere new with my boy.

I'm looking forward to running 13 miles along the Cotswold Way next sat as part of a relay team. I'm running the section from Seven Springs to Cranham which includes the famous Coopers Hill of cheese rolling fame, although I have to run up it, not fall down it!

Short term: looking at a full haybarn and knowing that all the hard work is behind me for another year
Long term: getting the work on my house started, completed and paid for.

Competing at a county level hack class with my mare next month! The first with her old new show name, I'd never given her a fancy name as thought it was bad luck to change it and didnt know what her old owners called her. So she's always been competed with me under her stable name, thought as its a fancy show, I'd ask her old owners what they used, they told me and I love it, suits her perfectly!

Going on a first shopping spree with my daughter for goodies and treats for her new loan horse! That boy is going to have a closet to die for and the Monster High Dolls can now forget all the new outfits and accessories my daughter had planned for them! :D

Several things.....

my boys breaking up from school - less than 2 weeks to go now, counting down the days, not sure how much of my life I waste on the school run, but I know I hate the constraints it gives us.

dressage camp in August with Cam - at Addington, so exctited!

holiday in St Lucia in October, it's been a few years since we have been and I can't wait to get back, although all I want to do is sleep, but sleeping on a sunbed on a Caribbean beach is a little different to chilling out at home. :)

I've got the GrayMo Mountain out at his first show of the year this weekend coming. Throwing us both in at the deep end - ROR Ridden and ROR challenge class. The last time I jumped a course of jumps was a good 12-13 years ago on my Shetland pony! If anyone has any luck going spare then please send it my way next Saturday lol!

Off to Iceland for a week at the end of July too!

Getting to know my new horse. For the last 20 or so years all my non business purchases have been for my son - as a parent I don't begrudge any of them and have had great fun as long the way - but this one's for me! I have been unwell with neurological problems for the last couple of years but a few months ago starting riding my son's ex 2* horse whom I love dearly but he does take advantage of my weak leg. The new boy came for us to sell on behalf of his owners and I fell in love with him and, to cut a long story short, he's now mine!

In the longer term I'm also hugely excited about my son's wedding in December. Future daughter in law is a lovely girl who has fitted into our small family perfectly and I really feel I am gaining the daughter I never had. She's included me in all the planning, dress shopping etc as she says I'll never have the chance to be a bride's mum. Now all that's left is for me to try to lose my crutches before the big day as I would love to have at least one dance on the big day!

I've got 4 things i'm looking forward to in the coming weeks...

Our Company Summer BBQ afternoon (so afternoon off work and everything bought and paid for, including a tab at the bar!!)

Great Yorkshire Show, which i'm going to with a friend and i've just found out another pal will be in the main ring on Tuesday at 4pm competing in the Private Carriage Driving Class!!,..so that'll be great to support her.

'A Morning at the Gallops', followed by lunch at the local pub... i won this in a charity auction back in January, so really looking forward to having a tour round Tom Dascombe/Michael Owen's set up, followed by a lovely lunch at our local watering hole!

I'm on a 'hen do', but it's my kinda do..:). It's a weekend at a Hotel & Spa with 2 treatments thrown in as well, so really looking forward to meeting up with friends that i've not seen in a while. I'm not into 'girly' weekends, but this i'm looking forward to very much.

Having a week off and hopefully having some decent weather to play with my boy! We're still tackling all kinds of new things - hacked out "alone" yesterday as his normal wingman is off games, although wingman's rider was very kind and came with us on her bike. If I can manage a whole week off (self-employed so doesn't always happen), it would be fab to have time to tidy him up and try one or two other "firsts".
