...that really make me appreciate Harry's yard. Had a quick chat with my mum today on the phone to get a general update, and she mentioned to me that one of the horses on the farm has escaped, and gotten into our bin, eating pretty much all the feed. It wasn't anything special - just a chop to go with Harry's supplement, but as an apology the YO and his wife emptied one of their lockable containers for us and replaced it. They didn't need to - it wasn't their horse, nor their fault (the naughty thing managed to open the door to the feed/store room himself - he's 110%, for anyone concerned :P) and we wouldn't have asked for anything, but it's just a lovely thing for them to do.

They've been such a pleasure to board at. From taking us in on a day's notice (urgent due to concerns for our safety), to them managing fields for them so efficiently (2x 4 acre fields for winter use, moving between 2 different, larger fields in the summer and autumn) and their random acts of generosity (gave us a spare rug for the sec a. Used to belong to their daughter's pony, no longer have anything small enough). They're such lovely people and they go to a massive amount of effort to make sure the animals kept there don't go without.

It's a huge comfort to me, especially when I'm nowhere near my horses right now, because I fully trust that if something were to happen to Harry whilst I'm not there, that they'd be there ready to help. It also goes to show that sometimes you need to take rumor with a pinch of salt - if we'd listened to a friend of ours, we'd have missed out on a fantastic yard for completely unwarranted reasons.

I do apologise that this is a bit of a soppy post. Haven't seen my boys in 6 weeks now, and as I said, it's a huge comfort to me to know that they are both are lovely yards, with multiple sets of eyes carefully watching them. Basically, I really love my YO's. :D

Now this is just lovely... Aww! Goes to show there are nice people on both sides huh?! And how little you need to do to make someone feel good too! It's those little gestures - we should all try harder to do the little things.

Lovely post to read, there are plenty of awful yards out there and hopefully this gives others a ray of hope that there are some lovely yards and lovely people out there. Thank you for sharing x
