i agreed to help look after my freinds horse as she was goin to college and they agreed to pay for all his hay and feed etc. well i havent seen or heard from them for over a month now, they dont care how there horse is and as hes in the same field as my horses ive been paying for hay for him and gettin nothing from them y shuld i have to pay for their horse. Y do some people take the p**s when u try and be a good freind and help???

Who else has had this done to them??

Bless ya, that is shocking. It's a good job there are kind people like you in the world to take care of these horses!

I take it you have mobile numbers and email address etc for them? An address to possibly write them a letter as a last resort?

I would ring them for a catch up and just say 'oh and by the way, the bill for the hay I've used so far to feed x currently stands at £XYZ so I'd appreciated it if you could get the money to me as soon as possible.. thanks!' try to remain cheerful and polite. they may just be ignorant...

Had a similar one here. We are lucky enough to have our own land and allowed a friend to bring her horse for a short while....6 months later she was still here with me having to look after her and feed her. Despite hints to move her (which were ignored) the comment back was well your grass is free! No thought to the fact I was checking her mare, changing rugs, more barrows of poo picking, worming, having to feed hay earlier as I had one more mouth to feed etc!! Sad thing is I won't get in the same situation again - The answer would now be NO!!
