I think the one song that absolutely makes me think of my horse that I lost is

There is another song but I can't remember it at the moment.
I am determined this is not going to be a sad thread - but one of celebration. I love hearing this song. It is a little sad but I feel uplifted when I hear it. I remember my beautiful horse as the friend and companion he was, not the fact that he is no longer alive.

Somewhere Only We Know by Keane. This was playing when I made the horrilble, heart breaking decision to have my old horse put to sleep after 10 happy years with him. It makes me think of all the lovely hacks we used to have when it seemed like we were the only ones around. Sigh!

Yeah, I always remember Taz with There You'll be. He didn't die, though he was sold, and I haven't been able to find him, and I really feel he was perfect for me.
I know its not the same and I am in no way comparing it to the heartbreak you must all feel about your lost ponies.

Just remembered the other song that reminds me of
smurf - LeAnn Rimes - PLease Remember - there is one line that does it for me. See if you can find which one it is. Hopefully others will se what I mean about this song. It's beautiful. I've just re downloaded it off itunes as I've lost my cd with it on.

PS It's the line ' We ran so fast, we ran so free ' it always reminds me of when I was upset and I would just tack him up, ride to a local river bank and we would gallop down it as fast as we could. We both loved it and I could have a good cry as we were galloping and get it out of my system. It never failed to make me feel uplifted. I miss doing that so much. Would love him back for one day - that's what I would do.
