Did make me wonder after the supermarket debacle, which breeds would work for which products?

I think my Welsh A would probably suit the budget no frills Value ranges.
The fat content would probably be fairly high.

Warmbloods could suit Tesco's Finest or Sainsbury's Taste the Difference.

Really well bred horses - Waitrose

And I would reckon Valegro Burgers would possibly work at Harrods' Food Hall...

Wondering about my Welsh D... what do I threaten him with? I think he's a bit middle-market. Too good for the value stuff but possibly not Waitrose standard.

What would you threaten yours with? :D

I used to tell mine that if she didn't shape up, she'd end up at a fine restaurant in France. Now I will have to threaten her with becoming a Tesco value burger. Not nearly as classy.

Poor horses. Luckily for us, all they understand is "human is not happy with me; oops," rather than, "Oh no! Not France!"

Dad threatens ours with Pricstick!!!:D:D

You'll all be out of luck at my local butchers then - I've just gone past and read a sign proclaiming that their beefburgers are just honest burgers, they've never won any awards, including the Cheltenham Gold Cup!

this is not just any horse..... its a marks and spencer horse!

I want the diagram they have in french butchers illustrating the different cuts of horsemeat - stick that on the stable door and she'll soon get the message - take one more chunk out of me and that's where your going!
PS only joking - before the fluffy bunnies start having a go :D

Hilarious! Mine would make wooly mammoth burgers currently!

Both mine are oldies so I think stew in the slow cooker is really the only option for them.

Tesco should consider taking lorries to local shows, I can see them getting some very good deals on badly behaved ponies that get eliminated or from stroppy teenagers who blame the pony for not winning!

Both of mine know what the word 'glue factory' means when they are naughty. Our mare would definitely be on the shelves in Waitrose - high quality, nice tasting meat. As for my cob, well, McDonalds for him, probably in a Big Mac.
