I posted about my ned and disunited canter...well i finally managed to get the saddle fitter out
shocked.gif
,i couldnt believe it...my saddle was soooo wrong for him,and me
blush.gif
,nothing went in favour for it AT ALL
frown.gif

fortunately i had to hand a lovely little event saddle to try, fitted him like a glove
smile.gif

have ridden in it,and i now find sitting trot(very hard in last saddle)a dream...he pulled like a train in canter on our hack tonight, but was very straight
smile.gif
and coordinated without nose stuck in the air
smile.gif

am just hacking atm as i think he maybe had a little learned response due to my shite saddle hurting him,so just to make him realise it dosnt hurt anymore!!
I felt soo bad as i thought the fit was reasonable...however saddler has pointed everything out and tbh, some points i would never have known
frown.gif

Alls well that ends well, hopefully my boy will be able to canter again
smile.gif

And it is sooo comfy,lol
smile.gif

Onwards and upwards i hope
smile.gif

Well at least you're getting sorted
smile.gif

Might be worth getting a back person out in case there are muscle knots from the tension the old saddle caused. We had to do stretches with Little Lad thanks to his old saddle

I'm glad you've got your horse/saddle issues sorted that must be a great relief. Just out of interest, and because my horse sometimes canters disunited, can you tell us what your saddler said, eg the 'points I would never have known'.

I've got a back person coming next Thursday.
smile.gif

Makes such a diffence doesn't it!
grin.gif
I ignorantly put a make do saddle on my horse when I first got him. Changed it shortly afterwards for a synthetic which did make a difference but when I got him fitted for a Kieffer Koln VSD a couple of years ago - my goodness did it free up his shoulder! Plus shortening from a 17.5 to a 17 inch fitted both myself & him so much better. he suddenly became more forward going, no more rodeos, and corrected my position so much. So pleased you have got one that looks to be doing the same for you. Good luck with it!

wow...were do i start,lol
crazy.gif

i have kept him out of the school for the bruised reason atm
frown.gif

i feel horrid
frown.gif
...lesson learnt
smile.gif

1..cantle should be higher than pommel
blush.gif
mine wasnt, made me unbalanced and put pressure on his back before i even sat on it
frown.gif
because it sat me backwards
frown.gif

2..Very weak panels at back(very flat, uneven when you hold it upside down and look),and the sewn seam on the panels were actually touching his back,in the same place he is sore
frown.gif

I honestly cannot believe i was sooo stupid,am far from novice but crap am embarrassed and ashamed i have put my horse through that

have that as a plan
smile.gif
,just waiting for his bruising to go down, bless him he was soo sore across his back.i thought he was being naughty, but as it went on...thought something not right ere
confused.gif
...am not surprised poor little mite
blush.gif
frown.gif

it has done exactly what yours has done
smile.gif

i have been sitting my saddles too far forward
blush.gif
...but he did say seems to be a common fault
smile.gif
thank god,lol
smile.gif

he actually showed me exactly where it should fit,and his shoulder with the good fit saddle has been released...i have a non raced tb with amazing paces,so hoping the canter will be sorted and saddle freed up his shoulder...looking forward to dressage with him
smile.gif

Oh it definitely will!!! Mine is a TB too. Once the saddle had straightened me up, I could work from my seat so much better. Canter suddenly became a more pleasant experience for both of us with him being so much more relaxed beneath the saddle & free with his movement. I think what was happening with him was that when he became unbalanced in canter & spooked, the saddle would pinch, and he would rodeo
frown.gif
. He still manages some of those delightful spooks at a right angle, but the bucks have completely gone - and it was instant! Good luck with the dressage. I am so pleased for you

thankyou
smile.gif
my poor boy didnt buck once
frown.gif
,he just kept dancing about all over in canter, well disunited,he would strike off on correct lead and it all went belly up....feel so guilty as i pushed him thinking he was being naughty, and got cross sooo many times
crazy.gif
he is a lazy piglet,so we all assumed he had found a way to get out of work
crazy.gif
poor little man
frown.gif
...if i had been him i would have deliberately planted me somewhere very painful!!i should have been more aware and listened to him
frown.gif
am sooo cross with myself
mad.gif

i have alot of making up to do
smile.gif

The important thing is that it is well on the way to getting sorted! Ready for the good weather too! Bless your horse though for being tolerant. Mine did unceremoniously dump me on a few occasions - well deserved it would seem! No flies on him when he is trying to tell me something
tongue.gif
. You must really be looking forward to cracking on with him now. Mine was pretty forgiving once the saddle had been changed. I am sure I saw an "I told you so" expression on his face afterwards
