Anyone else feel absolutely shattered at the moment or is it just me? I’ve been asleep for most of the afternoon. ? it’s freezing here today and windy again. I haven’t done an awful lot today, but had a fairly busy week so maybe it’s just caught up with me. Hopefully I will have my energy back tomorrow!

How’s everyone else feeling?

I’ve been a bit like that. I had a fall and hurt my shoulder so haven’t slept well which hasn’t helped.
I’m usually on fire in the mornings in winter. Alarm gos off I leap out of bed ? now it’s a real struggle ??

Ahh sorry to hear about your fall, hope you feel better soon! I have been getting up a bit earlier than usual this week which has made my days so much more productive and I’ve managed to pack a lot into them so want to continue getting up early but it soon catches up with me!

Same here. But I'm always tired. I have fibromyalgia, work full time and do my horse every day. Can't remember a day when I wasn't tired! ?
(I take a multi vitamin which does help tbh)

Talking of vitamins depending how tired we are talking do go to the dr and get a vitamin B test. I’m just being a bit lazy tired atm but a while ago I was just seriously exhausted and it turned out I was B deficient. A course of slightly stingy injections really did help.

Yes, I wish I was still like that! Another element of it is probably mental tiredness from job searching. Any ideas of jobs I can do on a self employed flexible basis to fit around the horses? I work for Hermes and love it so a courier job is definitely an option but a better paid one would be more practical.

I'm absolutely shattered. Had a bad reaction to the booster in December and it has been a bit uphill every since.

I take a multivitamin and Vit D every day and today, by accident, a Yumove tablet instead. :p
I am counting the days until the horses are out.

Sorry no. I’m in the same position almost. I’m currently covering for someone on sick leave but as of late spring/summer I need to get my arse into gear and find an actual job, but one that I can do with no real experience (other than horse which I don’t want to do) and that fits in with my dog and horses, on top of that preferably something I don’t dread getting up for every day. Stressful

yes it is! I have the horses at home but I still need to fit in the day to day care and make sure I get to ride enough. They live out most of the time so that’s a good think and this winter has been a blessing with the weather. I like you am looking for something non horsey -
Worked with horses all my life and it’s all I know but want a change. I want to save up for another horse in the future so need to get myself in gear but it’s hard with the horses. I know a lot of people work full time and have horses but I am very particular and give them a lot more attention than most so I’d struggle. ??‍♀️

I am soo tired. I had my Booster last week, and was poorly for about 48 hours. Yesterday I broke out in hives (insanely itchy) and had a sore throat. I still have a swollen and sore throat, and the hives have returned after the antihistamine wore off. I just feel tired and poorly. Got tested today for Covid, and that was negative. Will test again tomorrow (have my own tests but can also walk 3 min to a testing center). I don't know what the hives (if not covid related) could be related to.

Edited to add: I also take Vitamin D. It's definitely made a difference.

It’s been cold here this week too. And the wind just takes it out of you. I work in a feed store so the sheds are cold and it’s cold out in the wind loading/unloading trailers. But I love my job so it helps. Also started running again as my knee is holding up and doing more gym stuff and its helping me sleep. It’s all caught up with me tonight though and I’m shattered and a bit grumpy ? and everything to do with horses is cold and wet and I’ve got deep cracks on several fingers that sting whenever I touch anything.
but that’s the ponies in, fires on and can chill tonight and park run tomorrow morning to look forward to. Hope you all recharge over the weekend. Take it easy.

I’ve recently had my bloods all done due to a stomach issue so not sure if this would have been covered then? I do have ibs so there’s a chance this is making me tired.

I’ve got rotten gut syndrome and it makes me exhausted. lots of super important microbiology going on inside there.

also vit D too low, I saw a poster mention that the RDA is not enough so I’ve been popping 3 or 4 at a time ?

Been really tired I feel like I aged 10 years in 10 seconds when I fell down the stairs a few weeks ago. I still have a sore pelvis and am just beginning to be able to walk properly I feel like a very old lady. The shock is going thankfully never felt like that before and hope not to again. I am due my vit b12 jab so know it is time I take vit d, magnesium, vit k, multivitamins just generic ones,

I'm less run down than I was in the run up to Christmas but I've moved from DIY to assisted DIY & as a result, only need to do one visit a day most days. It does mean earlier starts to ride & get everything done in the morning before work but the pay off is having evenings back.

Can you make some tweaks to your routine to reduce your horsey workload? Perhaps a freelance groom could do some of it?

I'd definitely run sone bloods to to make sure you're not lacking in any vitamins & minerals too.

There isn’t really that much to do I just struggle to organise it and suffer from anxiety as well which doesn’t help my stomach so it’s really more about getting in a good routine that works for me. I’ll get there but I have to take baby steps. The horses are at home which helps.

I agree with having blood tests done if you can. I contacted my doctor in the autumn for various symptoms and it turns out I have a severe iron deficiency, not uncommon. I was falling asleep earlier and earlier amongst others things and really just lacking in power. I’m now a few months into iron tablets and starting to feel better.

The time of year does always take its toll though!

Really sorry to read about your accident, Wind and Rain.
I hope you begin to feel better soon.
