2 months ....yes MONTHS after purchasing a £300 pair of boots the zip has gone on the left boot

I have only used them to ride in.

Am going back to the tack shop tomorrow to try and sort something out (now having to ride in my show boots) but I have a funny feeling nothing will get done

, Have emailed the manufacturers aswell as I think zips going after 2 months is not acceptable.......am I being fair in this??

Personally I think thats totally unacceptable and I'd be expecting a full refund or a replacement... don't stop until you get one or the other!

I shall be demanding a refund as im 99% sure they were purchased on a credit card........will be getting Ariats instead, I wouldn't mind but a few years back I bought some insualted boots from company A (whose boots I have that are broken) and I had to get the zips repaired SEVEN TIMES and they went AGAIN 2 weeks later so I threw them in the bin. Was told by tack shop owner that the new ones were a better design and more durable.............this they are NOT

Had a similar thing happen recently with a pair of paddock boots bought at Blenheim. They had a really bad squeak which I thought was cos they were new but after about 6 weeks the whole of the bottom of the boot came away. I spoke to the shop I bought them from who arranged to collect them from me by courier, returned them direct to the manufacturer and sent out a replacement pair. Apparently the boots had a 12 month guarantee which I hadnt realised (they were Mountain Horse paddock boots). The new pair are perfect so far. I was really impressed by how seriously they took my complaint and both the shop and Mountain Horse were fab to deal with. I would say definitely ask for a replacement pair or a refund, 3 months is no time at all even if you're wearing them every day, obviously dont know what make they are but for that price they must be quite a reputable company. Good luck, let us know how you get on.

I had some boots do the same as yours, I took them back to the tack shop and they gave me a replacement pair. It did happen again so I emailed Toggi and they sent me a new pair out once had sent mine. Was very impressed.

your contract is with the shop who sold them, not the maufacturer. If they are faulty it is up to the shop to replace them or refund your. Under the sale of goods act they must be suitable for the purpose that you purchased them for.

Stick to your guns, go to the shop, refund or replacement, or tell them you are ringing trading standards
