Hi Writing On behalf of a friend...
Her horse has a sore back as in when she runs her hands down his back when she gets to the lower back he dips a tiny bit and twiches???
He does suffer with his back from a badly fitted saddle many moons ago..
He was last seen in Sep by a phyiso and said he had improved lots..
And ideas??
Shes rode him tonight n he was fine no signs of discomfort and happy to be out no twiching or anything, fine when she got on etc n tackd up..fine when hes brushed.
Its not like it was before when he was sore but thinks she just wants to be safe .. Thanks xx

Has the saddle been checked recently? the physio work will need to be in conjunction with the saddler otherwise as the muscles improve the saddle, if not right will cause further problems.
Has your friend been doing daily stretches and working the horse long and low to get the muscles warmed up properly, it may just be needing another treatment if not quite right yet.

hi thanks for reply :)
She had saddle re-checked in sep needed ajusting a little..
The phyiso said the improvment was fantastic n wuddent need to see him till jan..
I must add he went for a little longer hack then normal mon n she said they did alot of trotting so i wunder if hes used something he hasent for a while??as up till 1st Aug hes had all summer off.. i went out with them tonight n he looked fine, very fresh hehe, happy ears pricked :)
she said when she brushes his back he dosent move n when u rub lightly he dosent move its when she applys some pressure..in the same area both sides..
ill tell her to get streching him :) n maybe get another look at the saddle

If he had all summer off he will be changing shape if now in regular work, if she keeps the stretches going and keeps an eye on it if worried she can always get the physio back a little earlier.

Yes ill tel her to get streching him :) and see how he goes maybe the saddle needs doing again.
Hes been fine for the last 3months no sore-ness would of thought if he was going to be sore would of been within the first month etc from not been rode..but it seems linked to the long hack n fast trotting they did..thinks hes of work now til sunday.. u really have to press to see the dipping n twiching of the back muscles if u just ran your hand over you wuddent notice a thing lol..

thanks for the info :))
