My 9 year old GSD has a sore elbow which I notice he has been licking a lot. Despite having various dog beds inside and out plus strategically placed rubber matting outdoors he does insist on laying on the concrete or tiled floors. Can anyone recommend Something i could put on his elbow that might help?

Thanks for your responses. No he hasn’t seen a vet yet. I’ve got sudocreme so I’ll try that first for a couple of days and see if that helps.

I personally don't use Sudocrem for lickers because of the zinc oxide. Botanica is designed for use on horses and dogs therefore it bothers me less.

Jake isn't a licker and even if he was the elbow protectors would prevent it. Our vet recommends sudocrem for non lickers. Sudocrem or anything topical won't work unless you also take away the pressure issue.
