sore heel

Hi can anyone help or advise me please,

I had the farrier out this morning to do my mares trim and upon doing the back left foot he noticed she had a sore heel, so he put purple spray on it which i am going to carry on doing this week. now she does not seem lame on it, so is there anything else i need to do.

And if she is not lame can she still be ridden ? we have an all weather rubber paddocik

How did he know? Was he poking it too hard? Did he say she has thrush? Was he suggesting shoes?

i am not sure he was trimming her left back foot and said she had a sore heel and sprayed some purple spray into it ....... she is 14 and never had shoes ....... i was on the field with her last night and she was cantering/extended canter really fast she does not seem lame on it and he never mentioned nothing about putting shoes on

Presumably he noticed a small lesion of some sort - they do sometimes get tiny cuts or bruises from little injuries. Just keep an eye on it.
