Wondering if anyone has any bright ideas, I have a 6 rising 7 year old 15h cob mare, she has always been happy for me to touch, scratch, groom anywhere and everywhere, poke and prod etc.
Starting end of last year I think around november she began being funny to be touched around her sternum on and off and she's been funny around her stifles on and off since last summer.
Had her belly clipped which seemed to improve the situation for a day, long story short she's gone from being on and off to every day.
I haven't ridden her for 2 weeks and she's had 4 days off this week but still not comfortable. She appears fine when ridden except rather sluggish, however she is the sort of horse that doesn't really show pain unless it's really bad, and tolerates me more than other people so the fact that she's showing me something is worrying me now. Physio can't find anything muscular and skin is healthy, she's turned out on a gallop track so no mud.... Arg! Any ideas? Pm me if you like :)

Has she been lying on a hard surface? Is she ok with her elbows being touched?

And is it just her stifles or the general area around them too?

She'll always choose to lie on soft surface - soft mud or soft bedding. She's also quite lethargic for a horse that should be fit and raring to go, even a laid back horse. Having bloods done on friday...
