Sore loins?

Anyone know what could be the problem for a horse that seems ultra sensitive around loins / high up around last pair of ribs? No probs being ridden at all

Is he peeing ok? Try feeding a herbal kidney mix.It is a good de tox .

oh thats interesting..... He does seem to wee a fair bit but doesnt smell or look odd. The vet has felt his back but nothing too obvious but he is due a back check soon. I'll look into the weeing thing a bit more.....

Is his saddle too long for his back?

dont think so, the saddle was made for him and regularly checked. Also his ridden work is fine.

I did notice his <<coughs>> sheath is absolutely covered in black smegma with huge flakey bits (I have never seen one quite so dirty!!) - could this cause an infection - hence pain and weeing a lot?
