Our gun dog went shooting Wednesday. On Thursday morning she was limping on one of her back legs. We have checked her over and can only find a sore patch in between her toes. We have popped a poultice on but nothing came out. I think she has trodden on something and it's bruised her. We have soaked in salt water. Anything else we can do? If no improvement mid week we will take her to the vet.

Hector sometimes gets this. If it has been a couple of days and there is an actual sore patch, I dilute Hydrogen Peroxide and use a cotton bud to dab it on. I then use a cream, Germolene usually, that has local anaesthetic.

I reckon the H2O2 kills any bugs and the cream sooths but I am no expert!

I should add that I also clip the foot right back so I can see properly, in case there is a thorn in there. Poor Heck has me exploring with a head torch and magnifying glasses, before the treatment!

Thank you!! We got the head torch out!! Will try and trim paw hair later. Think we gave some germolene somewhere......
