can anyone shed some light on this - i have had my mare for nearly 2 months and last week on the skin next to her tail had a small sore no bigger than 2pence piece, when i cleaned it the hair was falling out and was very sore pinky / fleshy over the last week it has got bigger - you cant see it but you can feel it. Its scabby and if you scratch or brush it the hair falls out and she is very tender. Has any one seen this before?
