My broodmare has a sore patch on her tum about 8 inches in front of her teats. She keeps asking for me to scratch it for her. It was bare and had flaky skin and hot. I thought I would help her and apply something soothing so put on aloe vera gel, that was a bit cold she said, not impressed. Then several days later I applied Sudocreme as she was still asking to be scratched, that was at the weekend, last night I noticed it was inflamed and weeping yellow pus-like serum, poor girl. I wondered what on earth I had done to her. I washed it with warm water and the most minutest amount of Hibiscrub, it is very sore. Has anyone else experienced anything like this? I have looked up Sudocreme on here and no one says it has blistered their horse like this. She is 7 months pregnant. I wondered if the yellow stuff was in fact colostrum building up, it was VERY sticky and very like what I remember the colostrum was like when I bred another foal years ago. I should know these things!!
