sorry adive needed, clipping.

i have a mare that needs clipping this friday. But im just wondering what clip to give her. she is a 16.1hh mare and quite strongly built. i will hunt her nearly every weekend with the odd meet missed out. im wondering what clip to give as she lives out monday-thursday and then stays in friday night into saturday. she is in medium/hard work with me but only hacking and hunting. im thinking because she is a coloured to give her a hunter clip one because she is nearly all white and the other she is quite hary and does get very sweaty. on the other hand if she is living out with no neck on her rug then maybe i might give her a high trace clip, i dont know what have u lot done to yours in a similar situation??

If she sweats alot when you work her take all her hair off and buy a heavier rug

Seriously she will stay cooler and dry more quickly after a wash if she has less hair x

I give lucy a high blanket clip. She is nearly 20, lives out well rugged up. We hunt atleast once a week if not twice. I don't like to give her a hunter clip as i like to keep her back and loins covered especialy when we are stood around out hunting. I keep her quite fit so she doesn't sweat to much but i do make the lines quite high so i remove more hair than a normal blanket clip.

Buy a neck cover for your rug, and do a highish blanket clip.

The mark todd/jhl neck covers are good, fairly cheap and only need 3 D rings stitched onto rug
