I am looking to buy a bridle, to use at home and at small competions or unaff. I do not want to spend £120 on a stubben bridle, at the moment as just moving yards etc.. Has anyone has any of these type of bridles before and any reviews.
 
Try Cotswold Sport, they have reasonable bridles for around £40, with the reins. Or for a cheaper Stubben try Simply Stubben, I got one for £80 off them on e-bay.
 
Kincade are pretty good

I bought a brand new bridle for £5 on ebay and it's not bad- just for hacking etc. But will add that Stubben are worth investing in (IMO)- I also bought a Blenheim Collection bridle over the internet recently - a double for £30 - sadly they sent the wrong type of double as I was very impressed with the quality.
 
I've got a Treadstone bridle, absolutely love it, and everyone comments on how lovely it is. I got it new off ebay for £45. Really lovely english leather, and neat padded headpiece.
 
I'm just totally impressed by the technical knowledge displayed in your post! I admire your voting McGuffin with much envy.

I bought a bridle from my local tack shop for £25 - stitched nose/browband and perfectly nice and suitable for everything.
Ask your local see what they have.
 
Not had the above - but adore my elevator! Had stubben and sabre before but if you are just needing soemthing to be going on with why not "make do" and ask around if you can borrow or make one up from odd bits. My old mare went to the Nationals a couple of years ago in a mix of an old cob and full bridle with a posh new browband and looked the biz!
 
I have had several Kincade ones and they are fine for exercising etc. Best I ever had was a Zilco synthetic, but only because I'm so idle and I only had to wipe it off.
 
I brought (well Mum did) a Kincade Bridle from FrogPool on Saturday. The leather was really quite soft for a new bridle. Used it yesterday for the first time and it looked really smart.
 
Other - I've bought two Olympian bridles (about £50 each) which were really good, and my new Heritage comfort one, £50 off eBay, which is breaking in nicely and looks fantastic!
 
i love the comfort bridles they are really soft and look fantastic

i have a GFS for jumping but i want to get a john whittaker jump bridle with the mexican noseband but i have just brought a mexican noseband for £40
 
Only buy stuben bridles, they do a cheap range for about £90, go to frogpool they've got a sale on at the moment and have some nice bridles in the sale, plus there own cheap brand is pretty good, used it when mine were youngsters.
 
i have a kincade - £20, is still going strong but is starting to look worn as it started to peel as is got wet!

but other than that its good and always looked clean!

i have a heritage bridle from my local cheapy tack shop for general schooling and hacking, but i've had it about 3 years now and it still looks brand new when cleaned, and there is no sign of the stiching going on it. would highly reccomend the heritage bridle for general use!
 
I have a GFS bridle and I've had it as long as I've had Storm (coming up 5 years in November) and it's survived Storm tanking off down the field with it around her lags about 4 times! still looks new when it's had a clean aswell.....Not bad for £65
