I have been looking for a saddle for a dutch warmblood, I found an english leather 17.5" medium fit leather saddle, measuring 7" from d to d, all sounded perfect as well as being local and with no bids. I put in the starting bid of 70 pounds and won the saddle.
I was well impressed!
We went to collect the saddle and the lady was lovely chatted, paid, took away.
Saddle didnt fit the horse as it was really narrow, it actually measured 4" d to d, and the seat was 18" (she had stated on the ad that the saddle was exactly as described)
I emailed the lady to ask where she got her measurements from and said it wouldnt fit as her measurements were incorrect, got a reply saying 'sorry it doesnt fit your horse'

So after spending my sons birthday present budget on this saddle it s now sat in the shed, as I dont see much point in putting it back on ebay as only I bid before and it seems an odd size!

Pointless Post I know but needed to vent! I HATE saddle hunting!

Thanks for reading

I thought emailing her may set the ball rolling but she just said 'sorry it doesnt fit your horse'
I am such a wuss, and she was an older lady as well which makes me feel mean but I am now down 70 pounds with still no saddle.
I know it is a risk buying off ebay and I wouldnt be so cross if it had been advertised correctly

Give her the option first off, If youve just told her it doesnt fit, and shes apologised - she obivously hasnt got what you meant.

Email her and say " I appreciate your sympathy, however , the item isnt as described. As a result of this I would be looking to return the saddle to you and recieve a refund. If you are not preprared to do this then I will unfortunately have to escalate this through ebay."

See what she says. If she wont take it back then go straight to ebay, theres even a wee button you click for this type of thing. Dont let it worry you, its a common problem.

Hope you get it sorted.

You need to go to Ebay, put in a ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED complaint, then ebay will contact seller, who will reply to ebay, then may offer you a refund.
If no luck,go to Escalate a claim and you should get your money back.

Ah the lovely ebay have had so far 7 items posted and so far the buyer has not received. if you went to collect why did you not measure saddle before paying something I would have done 70 quid is still 70 quid no matter how deep your pockets are x

I paid cash, I wish I had measured it now but I am of old ebay style when things had to be as described and once you bid you bought, besides the fact she sort of chatted all the way to the door put the saddle in my hands and chatted back to the car! It was only when I got it out at home that I thought it looked far too narrow, so then measured it! I really need to be less niave I think!
And yes 70 quid is too much money to sit in the shed... it doesnt sound much but we had put it up for my sons birthday present! I wont be bidding onany more off there thats for sure!
