Sorry im new to all this and having been conned the last time we went for a box i want to get it right!!!

Those of you who have sold/bought horseboxes how much did you ( if at all ) expect the price to drop on bartering??

Friends we have been speaking to always say "well youll get it for less than that" but will we??? how much would you offer for a box thats say about £14000??? or is there a "percentage" rule as such.

Hope im making myself clear!!!???

when we brought current lorry only got them to drop price by bout a few hundred (they wanted £4000 and we payed £3400 i think?!) for something £14000 i would offer between say £10000 and £11000 (aim low) and then build up!

Depends how good you are at kncking people down and how desperate they are to sell.

If buying from a trader they will have leway depending on if you are PX somthing and how much they paid for box.

TBH we are putting our box up for sale. We will ask for £12,950 and will maybe expect to reduce at the most £400 as a gesture of goodwill.
But then we are putting it up for what it is worth and not for more.

I'm going to advertise mine next week and i'll probably except no less than £200 from the asking price. I'm just about to put another 6 mths tax on it and i've spent a fair bit on it and mines going to be on for what it's worth so i think thats fair.

I sold my lorry and the buyer paid what I asked for it. But then thats because I think I asked a fair price. If in doubt always stick £500 on for bartering but be aware this may alienate some of your buyers who may just be searching in the (say) 4-5K mark - and yours comes in at 5.5k (hope that makes sense)

Depends on how it's priced and what demand there is for it. The last lorry we sold we got our asking price of £13k. We put it on H&H and had about 20 calls and sold it to the first person that saw it. We were still getting calls several weeks later.

i have sold two one i put up at £13500. the next at £23500. i priced them both to sell and would of dropped the £500 but no more. i had over 10 calls for the first and about 20 ad a waiting list for the 2nd as i had taken a deposit. i got the full asking price.
