I don't know if it's because of the 'credit crunch' or if I've priced it too high, but I am trying to sell a 2 horse lorry with day living. So far have had very few enquiries.
So folks how much for a coachbuilt 2 horse with brand new day living. paye load of 2 ton, immaculate condition, taxed and plated.?

It's a DAF 45 150 turbo. 230.000km. Body was built 4 yrs ago and it was stored under a barn for 2 yrs so body work is good.

i sold mine on an "n" plate last year for 11k

stalled for 3, basic day living, with 11 mths plate and 4 mths tax..

horsequest and horsedeals so far. There seems to be so many for sale. We've had a couple of time wasters, so frustrating it's as bad as selling horses.

Well not quite the same but we sold our E reg cargo 3 horse last year for £10K in 3 hours of it being on horsemart. However think the money probs at he moment will be the problem tbh. Could you not part ex for a 3 horse somewhere??

Maybe try H & H? Though I think most people looking would look at the sites you've used already

I think a lot of people wanting a 2 horsebox in the lower price bracket are now looking at 3.5tons as they are so much cheaper to run.

If you are buying a larger lorry cn you not part-ex it?

My understanding of the credit crunch is to do with interest rates and the amount of money borrowed, house prices falling etc.
I think you are right about the 3.5 ton lorries, which are fine if you only want to carry one horse, you'd struggle to carry 2 in the majority of those though.
We can't part ex because the people building the new one don't do that.

I think it is overpriced at 17,500
I reckon if you dropped it to around the 14K mark it would go fairly sharpish

Nice lorry though, just what I want one day!

Oh that's a shame. I wouldn't really know about what yours is worth but maybe drop the price a bit for quick sale?

I have been advised to look for a 3.5 ton but was told my current lorry is only worth about £3.5 - £4k so will be saving for a while

I love it, just wish you were nearer and if it hasnt gone by the time I can buy, hopefully in a few weeks time we may well be contacting you. The only thing that I can think may put people off and by the way I know nothing about wagons so apologies if Im talking rubbish is that its not a tilt cab. Im just starting to look and people keep saying dont get one with a luton, get a proper tilt cab. They definately dont look as nice though.

you cn still have a luton and a tilt cab...
my previous lorry...pictured above, and my current lorry have luton and tilt cabs...

Yes my garage keep wittering on about engine access when they have to patch up my current lorry and tilt cabs do seem to be all the rage. Dont think this applies to tiddler lorries though does it?

It's got access to the engine through the cab. A lot depends on the mechanic, ours isn't bothered whether it has a tilt cab or not.
New one coming in August so not panicking just yet.

why dont you try using a dealers facilities to help you to sell - graham or luke skidmore at central england horseboxes are always very helpful and accommodating,

personally I dont think your lorry is overpriced, its a tidy looking vehicle, the market is just a bit slow at the moment, dont worry it will move.

Thankyou, I did think of calling them, I know they would offer less, but do you think they might offer a ridiculously low price.
