sorry another one on what you pay for livery

£8 per week. A little over an acre for one horse, no running water. No electric. No school. But got lights down there, guttering up and catching all this water were having. But it means I can do what I want, web I want with my mare. Nothing interesting just thought I'd start it off :)

Hi... I pay £435 per month for full livery for my 14.2 (£455 for bigger horses). For that I get stable, daily turnout (all liveries on yard come in every night year round, but that suits me coz my boy gets very fat if out 24/7), basic feed, all hay/haylage, a good shavings bed and then one fresh bale every week ( extras charged at cost), all mucking out, rug change and related jobs, feet picked when brought in, use of outdoor manège, use of indoor school, use of jumping paddock with jumps, parking for my trailer. Extras are use lights in indoor (£1 for 30 mins but if you ride in daylight you don't need them), use of solarium, various services such as clipping, any feed extras or supplements which we get ourselves ( but the yard feed them if left in the feed room). All in all a very good deal, I think. Also good staff, nice people, very good YOs who really try to keep people happy. Hope that helps.

£256 pm for part livery. Good grazing, large outdoor arena with lights, big stables, feed, hay, shavings, turnout in morning and fed at night. Very small, quiet yard, only ever see YO.

for one its;
£90 per month, stable, grazing, flat school, jumping school, round pen, parrelli school, off road riding, 24hr turn out if wanted

the other;
£56 per month, full livery, she is being backed too, includes hay, straw, fitness track, i pay for supplements, vet, farrier, etc

Can't believe how cheap people pay for grass £8 a week?! And £56 for all that? Wow!
I pay £188 for DIY so stable turnout outside school and isidr (£2.50 a day if I want to use it) it's £90 odd for just grass

I'm hoping this is a typo and you mean per week...!?

I pay £20pw total DIY. I have a field, 2 stables and a tack room. Water and electricity at all times and I don't pay any extra for it. Very secure area and I can do whatever I like, I love it! :D

Unfortunately though I think this means I'll never be able to go back to a livery yard... :o

£35 pw DIY stable, grazing, haylage lorry parking
huge indoor outdoor covered and outdoor schools.XC jumps, onsite hacking
onsite shows inc BS/BD clinics

horse walker
washbox
solarium

Its a college so can use the canteen during term time. none term time and weekends there is a cafe at the vistors centre and of course when the shows are on the show cafe

we are very lucky!

Downsides are same as most yards..takes ages to get repairs done. haylage can vary in quality

I pay £80 per month for grazing and a stable. All electric and water included. Use of outdoor (grass) school. Lockable communal tack/feed shed and we also have a snug/lounge/kitchen area for all to use. We have the beach on our doorstep which is a huge bonus. Oh, and we buy all our own hard feed, hay and bedding. I'm happy and feel this is priced right for what we are getting. Hope this helps! :)

no no typo its per month, she is a friend (the only person that i would send my mare to for backing) and its £56 per month for stable, grazing, hay and straw normally. she is backing mine for nothing as she has her for a minimum of a year to treat as her own and wants to get her out competing (she is nearly 6) this yr and hunting next winter-she re-schools and has done some backing but this will be the first she has taken from scratch to competing so she wants to use her to advertise herself so its a win win

Where I am (south wales) its £30 a month on the local farm for this you get a stable and a 15 acre field for mares or a 10 acre field for geldings, horses can stay out 24/7 from march till late november if you wish. No electric or running water but the water tanks never get empty and we use a leasure battery for lights. Because its so cheap I allways try and pop up and help out if any work needs doing ie fencing etc

I pay £25 p/w DIY. We have unrestricted huge fields, 2 menages, wash box, solarium, free lorry parking, small XC course, show jumping paddock, new stables and tack room, home produced forage and straw(pay extra). Electric and guaranteed running water regardless of freezing temperatures.

Part/Full livery service which I use occasionally but it's so embarrassingly cheap, I usually pay what I think is fair.:)

Thank you for all your replies. It seems that it varies quite a bit. Also there don't seem to be many people on full livery.

£30 a week is the basic DIY rate at our yard. We have an indoor and outdoor school, use of which is included, but we pay extra for lorry/trailer parking. Part livery, which includes bedding and haylage to a certain limit and all turnout/bring in/muck out etc but no exercise, grooming, tack cleaning, or holding for vet or farrier is £85 a week. Our yard don't offer full livery, but will do packages like 5 day livery.

Where I am it is

170pcm Diy including ad lib hay
360 pcm for 5 day part
440pcm for 7 day part
700 for full livery which is like part but includes brushing and riding.

Part livery includes everything except brushing and riding and includes bedding, hay, basic feed.

We have an outdoor floodlit arena with jumps, rubber matted indoor barn stables, all year turnout, jumping paddock and 40 fence xc course. Plus good hacking

The prices are reasonable for the area (hampshire) and the horses are cared for well. ,

I pay £30 wk and £5 for trailer parking....we have a outdoor school, water , electric and hay or haylage included , horse has own paddock which isnt always great as on there own !

£50:00 per week
full livery (except exercise) in week - all feed/hay/shavings included (and are unlimited)
miles and miles of hacking, grass paddock to ride in and full use of a menage 5 mins ride up the road which i use 2-3 times per week in winter.

I'm a YO and offer DIY livery.

My livery has three horses and pays £100 per calendar month.

For this she gets:

Own turnout (24/7 - yes, even at the moment) on good well drained pasture. No other horses but her own use it. I keep my own horses on the place (I live here) but they have their own separate pasture.

Is able to put up jumps/arena markers in summer months

Own large loose-boxes

Large secure yard for stuff like grooming/standing/clipping/farriers/vets etc - approx 10yds square area.

Plenty of room for parking

No restriction on children in the yard

Own lockable tack-room

Unrestricted room for storage of own hay/fodder etc

I live on site so 24/7 supervision

Permission to park her own lorry here for which I don't charge.

Yard security system in operation

OK'ish hacking in the local area and pretty good for local shows etc.

Hope this helps.

PS she buys all her own feed & bedding. I'm available if she can't be to hold horses for vet/farrier etc but don't otherwise interfere unless there's a situation like snow where she can't get out here in which case I'll chuck some hay in their direction.

im on DIY, i pay £26 for my stable, £17 for haylege, and £7.50 per bag of shavings a week. so roughly £58, sometimes (more often than not) more depending how boggin fox is and how many shavings i need. farmer grows all they hay and haylege, we have a well lit school but a pretty crappy surface (uneven and waterlogged after even a little rain..) in summer i pay £26 a week. others have said they think i pay quite a lot for DIY.
