Ok...

Atm the bunny is in his run and hutch in our sort of outbuilding type thing as its too snowy to be out... He wasnt handled much in his last home so is quite nervous of people. Once a day I have been bringing him in to the kitchen for a but of variety and so he sees people a bit. But it stresses him out being picked up and carried in but hes fine once he's in.... I thought this would make him less nervous and he is getting tamer.... but i didnt know if its good to do it if it stresses him being carried? sorry to waffle... thanks

Rabbits don't actually like being picked up. It's unnatural for them and they don't readily accept it. It is supposed to mimic being taken by a bird of prey... so not good!
If I were you I would train him to go into a basket, and use that to bring him inside. Stick his favourite treat in there, and he will soon learn it is okay to go in there. It will also be useful when you take him to the vets as he will be used to going into it already!

It took me over a year to get my bunny hand tame! He is a nutjob though whereas my other bun is a bit special and loves attention and cuddles.
 
You're doing a great job, the more you can handle him the better. I do find Dutch bunnies are quite a nervey breed, especially when they haven't been handled much. Also, most buns aren't keen on being picked up, even ones that are otherwise very sociable and will happily sit on your lap etc. Make sure you are picking him up properly so he feels secure, google handling or restraining rabbits - there are pics. If in doubt, bundle him up in a towel. I hope he realises what a lucky guy he is finding such a nice new home!
 
i have a lion head who hates being picked up and throws a massive hissy fit and leaves my arms in shreads!!! i always make sure im wearing sleeves, hes not to bad when i eventually have him he settles but its the picking up and putting down thats the issue. i feel your pain!
