Sorry - been done a million times before - bit advice for a 13.2 NF!

He is currently in a loose ring snaffle. It looks a bit short. Have just measured it from ring to ring and it is a 5" bit. I'd like to get him a french link snaffle as I think they are kinder. Dithering over what size to get. Sorry I am a complete novice! Had dds Riding instructor to look at it and she said yes a bit small.

Shall I try a 5.25?
 
you need to be able to see a bit at either side if you look forwards on. I personally like about 1/2 a cm clearance on my natives as they have fat lips :D

Yes, try a little bigger that should do nicely :)
 
lst time I took my daughter out on the lead rein we ended up pulling the ring into his mouth as he was turning :confused:

maybe a 5.5 then as there is absolutely nothing either side.
