I've had a lovely chap on loan for a few months but owner is now thinking of selling and I'd really appreciate some ideas as to a sensible offer:

16.3hh gelding, well bred ID, 11 years, good all-rounder and safe to hack (apart from an occasional buck!), easy to do but does suffer from sweet-itch.

True Market value for a nice ID more than that and the sweet itch wouldn't devalue it very much ( depending how bad it is). Try asking an ID expert - even ring the Irish draft horses society they would give you a true idea.

However, maybe the owner would sell for less on the assumption they want an easy sale and a good home.
