My little tb 15.2hh has been on off lame for months now, his last sick note leave was by impaling himself onto a broken fence post - great !, so faced with another lay off from riding him I got myself booked in for a month with a personal trainer. After loosing just over a stone in one month, the little lad was given the all clear to bring back into work - and boy what a differance it has made to him - especially as he is totally unfit. No more shuffling round, or walking off from the mounting block, no more jibbing after 30 mins walk, really striding out etc.... now this could be a combination that i am holding myself completely differently as my core strength has changed, or because I am not such a top heavy fraction any more - maybe my balance is is much better I dont know. But i am convinced that he is moving much better with me being lighter.
By the way - my big lad wouldn't care if i put on 8 stone! he thinks i am a fly on his back at my heaviest... but again the excercise must be helping with him as i am so much stronger in the seat, so the napping and spinning out on the hacks is decreasing as much as my waist line !
Really Gingerwitch- but forgot to get my Christmas name changed
