Sorry i know it's not Dogs but i thought you might be able to help!

Today i was woken by my Cat constantly 'meowing' which was strange as he never meows so i turned the lights on and he was dribbling- i have NEVER seen this so was very alarmed. He was walking around obviously uncomfortable but was waiting for me to follow him. He didn't like being picked up at all so i left him walking and took him outside. He was trying to be sick so i thought it might be a hairball but, as he was outside i couldn't find it. I can't help thinking it was nothing like a hairball though, he wasn't coughing almost choking?

I came home this evening and he was OK, i felt so terrible leaving him but he wandered off and i couldn't find him. I returned home this evening and he seems fine- a little lazy but fine.

Any other ideas, or simply and hairball?

He hasn't eaten anything odd has he??
It is the time of year for people to start using Slug Pellets thats all.
Hope he is ok.

Eeek hope he is OK.

Any possbility that he could have been involved in a collision with a car?

Sounds like pain, poisoning, or both maybe.

Was the dribble frothy?
If so, I would say he has eaten something poisonous, if not, then he could have an undetected injury of some sort.

Hope he's okay.

Thank you...possibly, but i can't see any other injury and he isn't walking funny or sore anywhere else but will have another look. Thanks

[/ QUOTE ]Ahh OK.. well I hope he is better soon.

I think a trip to the vets may be in order if he doesn't perk up.

My mum was saying she went to the gardeb centre the other day and 99% of the people were there buying rat poison!!!

Is he drinking loads?

Oh lord! It's hard to monitor he NEVER drinks out of a bowl but i see him drink in the fountain outside...i'll keep an eye on him tonight and get him to the vets tomorrow if he isn't any better.

I think it's worth taking him to the vets even if he looks okay, to be honest... it might not be anything he's eaten. It could be something or nothing but if it is something, then it needs to be treated ASAP.

thank you.

The vet suspected poisoning or something lodged in his throat...more likely the latter as he made a speedy recovery for poison, as he was better by the time i took him he just said to keep and i on him and his eating/drinking/toilet activity.

Thanks again guys x
