Please, explain to me what does fashion have to do with horse welfare? Is the colour of my breeches influencing my horses? Does it matter that their supplements come in silver coloured cans?
Most of what you are talking about is absolutely harmless...
As to the rest - training aids and different bits have been around for a long time... as has been rapping for example, and progress, scientific research and modern technology brought about ban on such a practice - surely, that's a good thing?

Out of interest, do you still mix mouldy bread with spider web or have you moved on to powdered antibiotics?

Oh come off it.
None of us know what will happen to us in the future,I very much dount the decision to hand a horse over to a rescue is an easy one.
Yes some people will abuse horses,they have been about since they day we first tamed horses but they are a very tiny proportion of owners.

I would rather see a novice owner who wants to learn then someone who has a bit of understanding and refuses to listen to anyone.

As long as an item is bought for it's function the colour really does not matter.

I think you need to learn to deal with progress,it's going to happen and is normaly for the best.
ANY piece of kit used for the wrong reason or by someone who doesnt have a clue how or why it works is going to be bad,not just the modern ones and people will always overfeed.
If you could perhaps put yourself across better then maybe you could help them when you meet them,instead of doing nothing much but raising your own blood pressure
