Three weeks barefoot now and little lady is happy as a pig in poo. Stomping over concrete and soft surfaces but struggling still on stones. This is a pony I had "the talk" with the vet 4 months ago and it was the farriers decision to take the shoes off. I cant ever thank him enough for saving my ladys life.

Here is the progress week 3. I dont know much about barefoot so any advice is much, much appreciate.
Feed is half a cup of fast fibre, ad lib soaked hay and pro hoof with 1 1/2 danillon daily for her stiffness since shes been on prolonged box rest.

Spoilered because photos are so huge!!! Sorry
Fronts, she shedding her soles on these two

She's doing so well! :)

Hopefully the Farrier wont need to trim the frogs anymore (don't let him ;) ) as that can make horses sore.

Thank you :) I'm glad they're looking okay. I'll ask him about not trimming frogs, he only said he did because they were abit stinky looking.
Is the sole shedding a good thing? I was pretty freaked out when it started. :O

Her frogs definitely shouldn't be trimmed when barefoot as it it used to cushion the impact when they walk, I love seeing other barefoot horses and there improvements! The most exciting part is definitely the new hoof growth angle and of course hoof boot shopping! :)

;) I just wish the pink boots had Been narrow enough.
It's so interesting, the feet. Taking photos the yard think I'm crazy :D

Okay, that's really useful to know. Thank you Lucy. It's pretty solid, I prodded the underneath where the sole is flaking off, it feels solid and she's not bothered by me poking it.
