Ok so might have posted about this horse before, and him continuing to grow!

He's 16.2hh at the mo, just turned 5. Dutch warmblood, had Animo in his lines. Very good to do, loves people. Works hard to try and please you, and will give anything a go, quite bold. Has been unaff sj'ing, and jumped afew b.nov and discos bsja. Just making green mistakes, or me making the mistake!

Now he is lovely, but i just feel as he get bigger/ stronger he might be too much for me. Im only 5'2" ish, and sometimes he feels to much for me, especially to hold together when jumping.

So i am undecided whether to sell him, i think depending on what he is worth just advertise him and see if anything comes of it, if not continue with him.. no loss.

I think he's lovely. Really nice sort.

Price: £5,500-6,500, depending on how he moves and his competition record. Its difficult to see from those pics but looks like he has very sloping pasterns? Maybe its just the angle......

Anyway, I like.

In his first b.nov he had a stop second part of double. (he had only jumped 2 doubles before)
Next disco 4, i let him break to trot to a double, and burried him. (my fault!)
b.nov- a stop, as course builder walked infront of fence!?
disco - 4 as i was riding too forward.

Basically i think im letting him down. I have a vid of his flat, from afew months ago..

hes lovely and you know him well, do you really find him to big or is it that hes a baby and unbalanced and with time and more muscle he will be ok for you!!! hes very nice horse and poss you could get up to 6k for him, but is all relative if you wish to replace him with something as well bred as him!!
 
I think about £6k - £6.5k would be the right price for him - going up if he had more of a competition record.
 
Are you sure it's not baby unbalancedness which makes him harder to ride? I am the same height as you and I went through a similar stage with my horse who is a big gelding - kept growing and now sticks at 16.3 (though is high withered). It is only this year (he's just turned 8) that I have felt he is balanced and rhythmical and smooth in the SJ ring, and part of that was him maturing, growing into his frame and becoming much more balanced and better able to carry himself. I am very glad I kept him....
 
Hmm could be, but maybe im just more suited to smaller horses. I am not rushing into anything, think will just put the word about that he *might* be for sale, and see if anything comes about that way. I am just worried i might regret it?
 
I always swore I was and that I'd never have anything over 16hh. Now I've got to grips with my chap and he's matured I would never, ever make that statement again, for one thing, the jumps look smaller from his back!!

I always said I was suited to smaller horses, now I think if the horse is good, it is worth taking the time to learn to ride it and let it mature and then decide iYSWIM.
