I would be grateful for any ideas on a sensible price, especially from people in the East Anglian area - prices for horseboxes seem to be a bit odd at the moment
Oakley Body, 7.5 tonnes
Bedford TK chassis - 32 years old, about 60,000 miles
no power steering - tack/changing area, 3/4 horse
MOT until end Sep08, tax for about 8 months
The problem I am having with valuing it is that the body is nice and the engine goes well but it is old!

There was one in the Yellow Ads a couple of weeks ago on a B plated TK for £3500 - don't know if it sold.

What is it's unladen weight? Would imagine the wooden body will put alot of as it's percieved to be very heavy - may be worth including the weight in your ad?

The whole body is in very good condition - underneath and on top - new sticky rubber stuff over the floor last year. Last owner had a 17 hh in it with no problems

OK - sorry me being slow - I don't know its unladen weight - I will find out thanks

I meant unladen weight ... trouble with those boxes are that they can be pretty heavy which might only leave you with enough payload for 1-2 horses.

Yes - I realised you meant that too late

I will check it out but hopefully it won't be too much as there isn't any living in it - just storage that doubles as seating

if you look on the brake test results from its MOT it will give you a rough idea of its unladen weigh on there. i havnt a clue what its worth..i scrapped mine as i bought a new one and then i moved so it had to go. my mechanic said the box itself was worth a grand!
