Well ok you know I adore George, I think I've mentioned it once or twice

and even in our recent low I still knew deep down that he was my boy. Well I don't know what it was tonight, whether it was a bit of confidence from my success on Sun, or my friend riding George once a week, but tonight he was AMAZING

I'm sure it wasn't graceful, but I was just so aware that George was really really trying, he didn't really argue at all and really got on with his work stepping out and even popping quietly into canter

I have got a lesson tomorrow when I will probably demonstrate that tonight was just a one off fluke, but whatever I was pleased.

Right enough of my self indulgence

before I bore you all stupid

Yay, that's brilliant. Its amazing when you get over a sticky patch. I have confidence blips from time to time with my (sharp) warmblood Fred. When it goes right, it feels amazing doesn't it?

Brilliant stuff.

So true!! x

I felt like that last weekend! Was at dressage and Dozzie was a joy to ride! Just had to hug her lots when we got home! I've had horses for 30 years but still get the same feelings when things fall into place!

When things seem to be going badly look back to where you have come from! I look back to two years ago and wonder why I carried on! In fact most people wonder why I carried on as every time I rode I took my life in my hands!

I even took out extra insurance to cover me if I couldnt work due to injury!

Having your own horse is so different to having a lesson at a riding school but you learn so much more and in the end it is so much more rewarding. I think keeping up the lessons is so important too. i dont know about you but I find I am much more confident to tackle issues when someone is helping me!

You did your first Prelim test last week. A few months ago you were worrying about the walk and trot test! A year ago you posted about your first canter! Think back to when you first got George and all the mountains you have climbed and you will begin to recognise how far you have come.

There are always tricky moments with horses but each time you learn to overcome a problem you become a better rider and your horse becomes a better horse!

Keep up the good work!
