Hi, I have a little pony who I would like to show in the next couple of years, hopefully up to county level.

With such a thick coat (he's shetland) I'm going to find it hard to make him shine. I need a balancer which has next to no calories and that will not add fizz (as he's LR pony). Can anyone tel me if Bailey's Lo Cal balancer will do the trick?

no idea but i have just put little one on top spec antilam, my friend uses it on her show ponies & they all gleam

A shetland shouldn't need any feed to make him shine, in fact a shettie shouldn't be getting anything but forage full stop! LOTS of good grooming is the way forward - or you could feed a few handfuls of BSS a day - WAY cheaper!

However if you don't want to show for a couple of years then why do anything now?

I feed my four year old Lo Cal and I show him, He is such a good doer so its difficult to feed him. But lo cal gives him everything he needs in Vit and minerals, a super coat, plenty of energy and very healthy. I highly recommend the stuff. Just make sure you feed the right amount. I give mine his with a bit of fibregee.

in the next couple of years... this year and next, hopefully longer

.

Reading the blurb on the website, it states that it is suitable for laminitics and good doers. Well, being in his 20's and having never had laminitis I'm sure he's not a candidate for fatty of the year

, so was looking mainly for an all round supplement which would also add gloss to his coat. Being a veteran on limited grazing (after all, he is a shetland lol) and in a good amount of work, I feel he could do with something extra in his diet to help him along. ATM he gets a handful of low cal nuts in his ball each evening, and hay.

Thanks, did try them before with another pony and noticed a marked difference. But I had heard they contain oil which = calories (well, obviously they do contain oil

lol) so was wondering if the LCB contained less.
