I have just seen an ad for the horse I used to exercise last year. She has advertised him as a "happy hacker" and is not fizzy or strong....errrm this horse was firstly given to me to ride on the understanding that he was not a novice ride. And secondly, he bucked and bolted with me forcing me to throw my self off. Believe me I have been riding for over 25 years and have ridden all sorts of horses and never ever ridden a horse like this one with a split personality.

Im so so mad that she is advertising him as a happy hack. God im so so mad ....deep breaths ...

Horses can change....

We had an ex pointer who was a nightmare in any other situation other than hacking, you couldnt school him, he would bronc until he got you off, he did settle with us eventually but wasnt suitable for competition as his head fell off!

He was sold as hacking ONLY under all circumstances and NOT to do anything else, he is now very happy, very chilled and we were very honest with his purchaser. We would never have thought he could even do that job, but he does and does it very well, you never know...under different circumstances he may be very different now?

Hmm no sorry he won't be any different as his owner is not confident and has not really ridden him much since my fall. He was loaned out but i think returned as they were unhappy. He is a great horse with big heart but only suitable for a v v experienced rider. At least you were honest in your ad...

They can change! I would not say my horse was a novice ride, but he can happilly plod along as a hack cos it requires no mental power from him. BUt ask him to do things and he clicks and tests you and has some fun with you. Also he will, in the school, suddenly do what we call 'The wall of death' when he has had enough. He wont out on a hack if just plodding along.
