I might be upgrading my lorry. I have no idea how much lorries are worth, so here goes. K reg. 7.5t. Resprayed in March. Living with fridge, oven hob and sink and wooden flooring. Flat screen TV. Loo. Generato.

Would it be best to sell privately or p/x?

i sold something similar, well a Leyland Daf 45/150, last year on an N Plate for 10.5k

friend has just bought a L plate ford for £8300

Gosh, we got 5k for our VW LT35 last year! G reg as well. No living, 2 horse with side ramp, had 2 owners before us, couldn't pull the skin off a rice pud going up a hill with horses in transit, but was a nifty little lorry for turning and going through the lanes.

I'd be gutted to only get 8 or 9k for that lorry, tbh, as it is stunning and much nicer than the one we got 5k for. We put it in a prominent position near the main road (outside a friend's driveway), and it sold within a week, last October.

As those younger people who are restricted due to passing test after 1/1/97 find out, 3.5 tonners are in high demand and you get a lot less for your money than with a 7.5 tonner.

I;d look for part exchange raher than be without a lorry or stuck with two for an unpredicable length of time.

To be honest you won't get much more than 9k for it

The lorry market is dead and its amazing what is not selling (good for me!)

Blimey!! I sold a 2 horse DAF R reg very basic living for £15.000. I'd have thought you could start at £20.000

I passed my test in 2002 and was never allowed to drive our LT35!!! Well, I was, but not on the roads ;o) I'm only 24 so insurance came in extortionate. Still, it sold in less than a week, but then we live in a very horsey area.

I've just sold my H reg Cargo 10.5tnne for 5k. It needed a respray but otherwise sound and reliable.

The people that came to look were looking above 7.5tnne due to the tightening of the weight laws and targetting of Horseboxes in particular.

That's one reason why the 7.5t market is bottoming out at the moment.

I would wait a bit personally.

A few weeks ago we got £4k for an old bedford with basic living and in need of some serious bodywork and a paint job so I should think you'd get at least £15k for yours.
