I've just made up new beds in my new stables (yayy very excited) and the 12 x 12 took 3 bales, the 12 x 14s took 4 bales, with proper banks and deep beds, on top of rubber mats. These are ordinary little bales. I'm using 1/2 bale/day per horse to maintain the beds, until my storage area is built and I have somewhere to store big bale straw (it's costing me a fortune in small bales!)
