Hi all,
Please can you pass this on to anyone and everyone that you know, we would be most grateful as you never know someone may find it for us
Our horse trailer was
stolen from Normandy, nr Guildford around 1 am on 26th November. It was used to transport some machinery, possibly a mini digger or a mini dump truck that was also stolen from a house nearby.
The trailer is a Rice (says Rice inside a horseshoe shape on front of
trailer) Beaufort double horse trailer, it has a plate on the front nearside with the serial number A9463 although this would be easy to remove! It is (marine?) blue but it is 31 years old and the paint was coming off so you could see the red oxide undercoat; it has 2 rusty mudguards and I mean rusty (we were saving up to replace them!) It has a small door (grooms door) at the front right hand side, the catch sticks when you try to open it! On the front left there is a ramp for unloading the horses and the door above it is rusty where it meets the ramp and it is slightly bent at the top so it doesn't sit quite right.
There is a small window right at the front so that you can see the horses when you are towing. It has an old hitch, the kind that you screw down and the handbrake you have to put a pin in so that you can reverse. The brakes where coming on when it was being towed so we were in the process of fixing it and because of this one of the dampers was missing (these are set behind the hand brake), so there is only one on there at the moment. Also the gaiter was starting to split and didn't sit properly.
The thieves took out the centre partition so they could fit the machinery in. The wooden floor was starting to rot so the back part had aluminium plating put on top of the wooden floor. The tail lights were different to each other. It had a "leg" on each side at the rear that you could lower to stabilize the trailer if necessary. The two doors above the trailer ramp had been removed by the thieves.
I know that it doesn't sound as if it is worth finding but for us it is, we had been saving for ages to get a trailer and we got this one to do up (which we had started to do).
Please if you see this trailer can you let me know; we also had a generator, a large blue wheelbarrow, a muck fork(!) , a pink eukenuba
bin(?) and a bag of carrots (!?!) stolen.
If you see it or have any info you can email me at gail.macer@ntlworld.com
Many thanks
