Baby oil helped me - Pig oil would help too!
We have to accept it to a certain extent though - nothing will completely stop it

it normally does, make sure the hooves are SMOTHERED though, especially round the edge of the frog. and ditto, it helps but nothing can completely stop it

NO, Vaseline is absolutely useless!
Try Sump Oil or Axle Grease.
