just seen the long range weather forecast and next Thursday they are forecasting over 90mm of rain to fall in twelve hours from 6 am in the morning. Today we had allegedly 45mm in a 24 hour period so how the hell can we get twice the amount of monsoon rain we had today in half the time - it surely cannot rain four times as hard!!!!!!!!!!! The wood is ordered = the plans have been drawn up - all horses are being trained to travel as pairs, reckon we may be ready to launch by Thursday. heaven help the people who are flooded now.

Gah! And Be has outgrown her warmer rugs.... I thought I had time to sell them and buy more but at this rate she'll be needing a new M/W ASAP!

And my liveries keep asking if they can go out - they have only been in since last night - 24hours!!! Their fields are waterlogged, they can use the arena and my own horses are all in. Yes it costs me money to have them in but at least they are not standing knee deep in mud, with rain hammering in to them, trashing the gateways. And I let them have 24hr turn out right through until they go into winter paddocks in December. We have kept in 24hours overnight for a grand total of 12 times in 18 months. aaaargh.

If they went out, they'd only be moaning that the rugs are wet & they cant dry them out. That it's too muddy for their darlings.

BTW, I've got 2 horses & me+OH, can we catch a lift too?

you can all come provided you come in pairs along with the horses. Not promising luxury accommodation - OH reckons we have enough unwanted pallets (no hay this year cos of the weather and making big bale haylage so lots of pallets stacked all over the place) to make a very large ark. but I am not convinced by his boat building skills, so if you have an inflatable - bring it with you

We have a boat and we may well need it! We are stream bordered and the 'stream' which is doing a good impression of rapids, is up to the top of the arch of the bridge already!!! Please let us have a restbite in between now and then

boats are even more welcome than inflatables. Just got in from chucking out all the livery horses and my own - its actually not raining at the moment. so I just rugged them and got them out no breakfasts - as they need the grass and I think we only have a morning to leave them out. They all exploded.

buying a new pony just so you have pairs is cheating - get yourself some friends with odd numbers.
