Hi everyone, i have a super solid irish cob 5 year old 15.3 maybe touching 16hh ( not measured him lately). I havent measured his bone but would say easily 9-10 inch.

I have a lovely friend whom i trust offer to exercise him for me in winter through the week whilst i am at work to keep him fit for me.

My friend weighs 15 stone (she is tall so doesnt look it and is muscular as works out in a gym) so isnt fat just heavy, would she be to heavy for him?

I myself weigh 14 stone and he carries me no problem (although i am currently aiming to lose a stone so i can ride my other lad)

Thanks

Definitely not too heavy! You see much smaller Irish cobs carry a well built man on the hunting scene for a full day. I know every horse is different but give it a go and you'll quickly see if your horse is unhappy with the extra weight!
