Im sorry for posting yet again about Puppy.

Mum took him for his 1st injections today about 3pm. Since then he has been sleepy, he does wake up go out etc but even when he goes out no energy just sits walks a bit does business then just goes straight back to sleep when back in the house. Is this normal?

Also he is yelping when I pick him up will this be where the injection went in (sore)?

Sorry I know its hard to tell without seeing the dog but I dont like the fact he is yelping when ever I pick him up.

Thought you guys have more experience.

Sorry and thanks x

They are often sleepy after the jab, I wouldn't worry too much. Did they give the injection in the scruff of his neck, and are you catching that when you lift him? If so then yes it possibly will be sore, alternatively, is he a bit nervous, cos he may be worried that being picked up means he will be getting an injection and yelping in fear rather than pain. As long as no other symptoms I wouldn't worry, just let him sleep it off. Tomorrow you will probably wishing you had the quiet pup back again.

Thanks for the reply MurphysMinder,

I wasn't there but I asume they must have given it in his scruff. I try not to catch it when I pick him up but he still yelps. Like you say he may be thinking he is getting another when ever he is picked up.

Oh and your most prob right I will be wishing for the quiet puppy again. Mind you bring back the nutter this it too quiet lol

I know how hard it is living with a drama queen dog, Henry got a nip on the nose from another dog at work last week, and people in the office downstairs ran outside because they thought a dog had been hit by a car from all the screeching they could hear...

My dog was the same, I was so so worried. He wouldnt even move and if he did he yelped. It was awful but he was fine the following day. He had his first booster this year and he was off colour again. This time he was really quiet and slept a lot.
Im sure he will be fine tomorrow.

As suggested it's normal for puppies and adults to go off food for a day and become lethargic after a jab as there immune system is working a little harder then usual and the injection site will be very sore for a few days thats why he is yelping to say "hey numpty get the hell of my neck" u did this to me
