I am seriously debating whether to sell my lorry and convert back to trailering as now we have two ponies between myself and daughter and I don't envisage going away so much to compete over weekends.

It is a VWLT50 (5 tonne) apparently sought after made by professional well known coachbuilders, it is well presented, can take 2 horses (legally) although was stalled for three.

Has fantastic cosy living with tv, fridge, cooker, cupboards, good sleeping x 2 double beds..

It is plated until July 2011, easy to drive and whilst not the fastest in the world, always gets you there safely and lovely drive for the horses.

It is on a G plate and very compact and neat to drive much nicer than 7.5ton for those who are not so keen. Has leisure battery and gas/plus hook up if required although never needed it as leisure battery and gas are ample for weekend.

Obviously it is an older lorry but what should I realistically expect to advertise it at? Have looked around at the adverts but also not sure if they are even selling at the moment, some look really tatty in comparison, this is in good nick and is no rust bucket and really tidy inside and out.

??????????????????? any ideas???? I have not a clue but if its not worth enough to replace with cheapy 4x4 for towing only (would keep estate car for work) and trailer for couple of ponies, it's not really worth doing, but it woudl save paying for it to be parked!!:confused::confused:

i know someone that sold a very smart h reg 5t lorry for about 7k, had done hardly any miles. but i was also watching one on ebay - an h reg 5t lt50 which kept getting relisted at 2500 with no takers, looked nice, now on at 1000 as the engine seized up apparently.

i think this size can be tricky, as so many people now can only drive 3.5t, and if you took a lorry licence, you are probably goiong to be happy driving a 7.5t after all the training.

I sold mine in September. It was on a M plate not coachbuilt and without cut thru to living. It was an ugly devil but well built and safe. I struggled to sell and in end let it go for £2750. Hopefully the Market will start to pick up soon.
