Sort of excited

Well done Snuffles, you have looked into the pros and cons and the pros have won! I hope you have much happiness together and it is for longer than you might be anticipating.

Here she is!

She is lovely! Of course you took her, how could you not? As you say, you know she is probably only with you for a relatively short time, so it's not the same as losing a young dog. I'm sure you'll all have a great time together.

Well she has arrived to stay, complete with enough food and chews etc to keep her going for a few months! Old dog got the hump because she has pinched his cuddly bunny. Not sure whether to buy her her own toys or not let either of them have them. Older dog only rarely plays with Bun anyway. Interesting times ahead, not looking forward to the tussle for getting on the bed, wouldn't be any room for me :D

Remove all toys for a while was the advice my trainer gave me, it's potential cause of disputes/jealousy. Might mKe life easier to remove. I find that buying separate toys for different dogs doesn't work, especially as the dragon (Zak) likes to horde all toys by lying on them.

I came to this thread late but I am SO pleased you chose to give her a chance :) :) the health issues wouldn't bother me a jot, you manage them as part of dog ownership with older dogs, but she deserves love and comfort in her older years - yep I am an unrepentant sucker for an older dog, I love them! I really hope you have some happy times together :)

Yes, when we had two, I'd buy them a toy each and they'd still fight over one!

Fraught day yesterday, she paced from front door to back door all day and evening, looking for her owner I guess, made me sad.
Tramped round most of the night, heavy footed girl on creaky floorboards! Im a bad sleeper anyway so was forced to take a pill. She is a bit calmer today to hopefully she'll settle in. Introduced her to the horses over the gate and she's not bothered by them. I knew what I was letting myself in for with an old dog but like the Clumber Im in love already ! Soft touch me
