HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Friday clipped the Donkey

Saturday hot towelled with Dettol and Baby Oil

Tuesday hot towelled with Dettol - immediately came out in lumps - so washed her off

Last night - still covered in small lumps (mostly on her nearside shoulder) that are irritating her and she was a nappy cow to ride so gave up

Washed her in a mild vinegar solution and put her to bed in a thin stable sheet so that she would stay as cool as poss

This am - they are still there - turned out in lightest weight rug.

What else can I do before tomorrow morning??

As we had to have the vet out last night at 11.30 for the dog who was struggling to breath) he did suggest a shot of steroids

HELP HELP HELP

Also I need to at least wash her mane and face tonight - will I be okay to use a very diluted amount of hypo allergenic baby shampoo??


Up side is the vet thinks the dog had almost an asthmatic attack after we were playing 'mousing' in some old hay

Hi SSM

Could you not try an Antihistamine cream on a small area of the affected area? Or even calamaine lotion?

Fingers crossed you get it sorted.

You need my organic, sensitive skin shampoo!

Have you go any aloe vera that you can add to the baby shampoo, or in the water when you rinse it out?

It's probably also worth the steroid shot - I couldn't believe the difference it made within a few hours to my allergy ridden cat.

The bumps will take a good few days to go down otherwise.

Hope bumbledog is ok after her asthmatic attack x

I always hot towelled the show horses with just hot water. Dettol is really strong on sensitive skin and I haven't actually heard of it being used for this before.... hope she is ok. We used to body brush with the brush slightly damp to really lift up scurf. Mane washing should be fine with baby shampoo.
