Soundproof ears. Yay or nay?

Does anyone think they work any better than a standard ear bonnet/fly veil. I need to get a black ear bonnet and I have a spooky horse. But the sound proof ones tend to be pricier and probably hotter too in the summer. Are they worth the extra cost, or is it just a gimmick?

I think they did help my spooky horses that struggle with noise and distraction but unfortunately whenever my horse shook his head the bridle kept falling off so I don't use them now.

I always ride in one. I ride in a racing hood daily, it can't come off. For shows I use sound proof ears and use tiny cable ties to attach it to the bridle. They really help my horse.

They made a massive difference to my spooky horse. He's worse indoors with strange noises from outside when he can't see what's causing them.

Sorry for replying to an old thread, just wondered whether you prefer a racing hood or soundproof ears?
